Kroger, which has its headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, operates many locations throughout the United States. The chain is present in more than one-third of the country. But what kind of discounts does Kroger offer to seniors?

This article will let you know what discounts Kroger offers to seniors and the eligibility requirements.

Kroger Senior Discount Information

Unfortunately, Kroger does not offer senior citizen discounts. They also do not offer senior discount days for seniors.

Kroger used to offer a senior citizen discount that was valid across the country. Despite this, Kroger terminated the program a few years ago.

Kroger’s Past Senior Discount Program

Kroger shoppers over the age of 59 have taken advantage of reductions on Kroger corporate brand products ever since the grocery company began offering discounts for senior citizens in the early 2000s. Some customers will be in for an unpleasant shock at the checkout counter when the company stops offering its weekly senior discount days in some regions.

Kroger no longer provides a discount for senior citizens; however, in the past, the company did offer a discount of ten percent off the total value of purchases made on the first Tuesday of every month to customers who were 55 years old or over. You now have the option of purchasing the item for a discounted rate. It entails a reduction in price each and every day of the week.

Which Stores Still Offer Discounts?

Having said that, it’s possible that some of the local shops still provide discounts for senior citizens.

Calling the store in question is the most effective approach to determine whether or not the Kroger near you provides discounts for seniors.

If the Kroger store near you still allows senior discounts, you’ll need to be at least 55 years old to qualify for one of them. You will receive it once you have presented your Kroger Plus Card to the cashier.

According to Steve Economides of MoneySmartFamily.com, Kroger’s Frys Food Stores in Arizona continue to provide a senior discount for their customers.

Kroger is the parent company of many well-known store brands, such as Dillons, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Frys, Harris Teeter, Home Chef, King Soopers, Marianos, Ralphs, Roundy’s, and Smiths. It is better to contact the store near you to find out if they have any senior discounts available.
